St Patrick’s Day fun: Watching ‘Wheel of Fortune’ live

On St. Patrick’s Day, you can find me on Wheel of Fortune. No, I haven’t ever been a contestant (well, at least not yet, but it is a dream of mine.) Still, I can be seen in the audience of the popular game show today as I went to a live taping of the popular game show that will air on March 17. Sat right next to the family members of the contestant and got a chance to hear about their exciting journey. Yes, Wheel of Fortune does give away some green given away on St. Patrick’s Day!

Before you ask who won, let me tell you that I can’t tell you (we promised not to spill the beans.) Also, I admit I don’t remember. The taping was months ago and during that time at the studio I watched several episodes, clapped like it was my last day on earth and enjoyed watched the magic behind the scenes as it played out for the cameras. So yeah, I will be just as surprised about the results of the show today as everyone else.

Going to a game show to watch it live definitely has perks. It gives you a chance to see how the show comes together and why it looks so smooth on television. It also allows viewers an opportunity to see what kind of pressure is part of the show. Anyone who thinks that people just show up and win cash, need to see it live. Beads of sweat can be seen rolling down some contestant’s faces as the stakes are high and one wrong answer could mean they lose big money.

There is no doubt I really do like the Wheel of Fortune game show and the opportunity to watch as contestants try to win some green brought me a whole new appreciation of the concept. No wonder why this is America’s favorite game show.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!
